Our Aims

Our Aims

To put it very simply, we want to inspire children to aspire to a brighter future.  We want children to have dreams and give them the support to chase those dreams.

A big aspiration indeed and as a small charity, we can only take small steps at a time towards our goal.  Our initial link was with Rowdown Primary School (see About Us for more detail) but in five years we have now expanded to help children all over New Addington.  And we are now supporting 60+ children every week.

The Foundation is a registered charity with the following aims:

1.  For the children:

To benefit children from New Addington who have been identified as having an exceptional sporting, artistic or academic ability, skill or talent by offering financial, motivational or logistical support.  We can provide access to focused extra-curricular activities in that sport, art or academic subject in order to give the child expert guidance with which to grow their talent.  Often our support will be for individual children but there will also be occasions where we can offer group support to like-minded pupils to learn and improve together.

We are also encouraging all pupils to work hard and achieve more at the school by organising the Rowdown School Awards.  This is an annual event and will celebrate those children who have excelled academically or exceeded expectations in effort, determination and enthusiasm.

2. For their parents:

To encourage parents to take an active interest in their child’s education including the training of parents in teaching and development skills.
