12th June 2015 – What a Performance!

This afternoon I was privileged to attend a piano recital organised by Christopher’s piano teacher, Gillian Bibby.  15 or so of her pupils took part in the recital and the standard was very high indeed, evidencing how fortunate we are to have teamed Christopher up with Mrs Bibby.

DSC03658Christopher opened proceedings with a note-perfect (at least to my untuned – and actually tone deaf – ears) rendition of Bach’s Minuet in G leaving the piano to enthusiastic applause from the 50 or so audience, including Christopher’s proud parents and siblings.

Other performances followed and then after a short interval, Christopher was back at the piano to play a medley of folk songs: The Lincolnshire Poacher, Spanish Donkey-Driver and Up the Hill.  Again, a very impressive performance and all from memory.

Mrs Bibby is expecting to enter Christopher for his Grade 2 exam in the Autumn this year, with his Grade 3 on the cards for this time next year.

Christopher is a very polite, well-mannered, intelligent and talented boy.  He is also on the Foundation’s Tuition Programme and we hope that this could lead to a place at a good school that can further nurture his musical ability.
